Here's a good poem I read the other day.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh

This weekend

This weekend I went to a wedding in New Jersey with my boyfriend. It was the craziest wedding I've ever been too. It took us almost 5 hours to get there and when we checked into our hotel we thought we had plenty of time to get ready which was an hour. Then we realized the ceremony was an hour and fifteen minutes away and we would never make. We went and got food and drinks instead. After we went to the reception. it was incredible. All the food stations during the cocktail hour were all on ice sculptures for example the sushi station was on a dragon table made of ice. It was an open bar all night. The dinner was so good. After they had all different dessert stations. My favorite was the chocolate fountain. I had a great time.

Maine

This weekend I went to my parents maine house. It is so pretty up here. It's in fryeburg maine which is like 10 miles from North Conway Nh. We are in the valley so we are surrounded by mountains. Everything is still snow covered which add that much more beauty. Most the lakes are frozen. When I look out on to our lake all you can see are little ice fishing shacks. It's a neat sight to see. I spent the weekend snowmobiling. It is one on my favorite things to do but unfortunately the season usually only lasts about 3 months. The things you see are amazing, because your in the middle of the woods and would mostly like not see it otherwise. I actually saw something pretty stupid. A guy tried to cross an open river on his snowmobile. It was only a week old. Good way to blow ten grand. The guy was ok though, just really dumb. The brand of the machine was an Artic cat. The first thing my dad said was didn't you know cats can't swim. I'll be sure too post some pictures once I upload them!

This website is killing me! I've spent hours trying to get it to work and it won't! I've never been so frustrated at the computer in my life, besides the one time I thought it would be a great idea to take a math class online. It keeps telling me access denied, which i really annoying because I went to school and had someone help me with it. Maybe it's my mac computer? I'm not really sure, all that I know is I'm starting to really not enjoy technology very much. The most annoying part is that this is what my brother graduated college with a degree in computer something or other, but will be help me! I don't think so! Ughhhh

Boston Burger

So my friends and I went to this amazing little whole in the wall place in davis sq. It's called Boston Burger Company. They have so many different amazing and creative burgers to choose from! The food was all great I loved the fried pickles. They owners were also featured on an episode of rachel ray and won a burger cook off.

Internet and communication

Just like everything else in the world the internet has pro’s and con’s. I believe there are more pro’s then cons but others may disagree. Some people believe that the internet is eating us whole. I do agree though that now a days people are very impersonal. Nothing is ever done face to face for the most because of the convenience. Instead of taking time out of your day to call someone let alone meet up with them you can send them a text or email; therefore, instead of using time to talk to them in person you can be multitasking doing other work etc. I do believe we are now more prone to send a family member an email then to call them keeping as more closely connected but in a impersonal way. People can not live without there laptops, pda, cell phone whatever with out feeling lost or having anxiety. A student made a great point that people need instant gratification. they want an answer now or they want to know whats going on not, not later. I believe will say things that they regret through email then they would face to face also. I believe the internet can be used as a great tool if we utilize it the correct way.

I am my friends maid of honor in her wedding, heres the speech I've been working on.


Anyone who knows angela knows the she is a last minute person, and this is why were are bestfriends because we’re two peas in a pod. For weeks I thought about writing this and all of a sudden it was the night before the wedding. For all of you who don’t know me I’m Hannah , and don’t worry I’ll make this short and sweet.
Angela has been such an amazing friend and I love her so much that words can’t express. We have so much fun together. Like all the flat tires ( thanks mr M) Or when we could home late night and Mrs M would ask angela to do a strange task like pluck her eye brows to see if we had been smoking..i just wanna pause and say how amazing your parents are ang, they put up with a lot and have made you the beautiful person you are in an out. Like everyone we’ve had our up and our downs and she's always been there for me when things were tough. We've come to know one another so well, that we have an understanding that goes beyond words.
Angela is a very persuasive, who all of you who do not not know. There were numerous times in high school were she would “force” me to skip school or forge a dismissal skip so we could go to the rockingham mall, and yes this was an hour away. Oh and if any ever came to a road block off and arlington by orange cones..it was probably a product of ang and I. When Angela started dating kevin as any best friend, I was apprehensive, but slowly he warmed up to me. Kevin proved to me how great of a guy he was our senior year of high school. Unfortunately I had no date to senior prom and the phenomenal and sweet guy that kevin is took both of us as his dates, this was the day that I said I hope she marries him, and here today is the day my wish came true. I couldn’t be happier for you both! Angela is just like her mother whether it’s her fiery personality or her extreme passion for things in life I know she will be and an amazing wife and one day an amazing mother, so kevin first off ask dave for advice to deal with that “fieriness” and second your extremely Lucky to be married someone so perfect as that princess standing next to you.



My Greatest wish for the two of you is that through the years your love for each other will so deepen and grow, that years from now you will look back on this day, your wedding day, as the day you loved each other the least.

I love you both so much congratulation!!

Internet and media

Today the internet and the media go hand in hand.  Everybody read about what is going on in the world through the internet.  For the most part people no longer read newspapers for news.  The internet is instant access for breaking new etc.  It also is a new place for many trashy and gossip like websites about the stars.  There more now tabloids are also instant access, which to me is trash.  Anything can now be download to the internet in a split second.  There is no such thing as privacy.  One thing I do enjoy about have the internet is you can now check weather whenever you would and this now includes your cell phone.  Most everyone has cell phones that can access this information.  I also like how you now can follow sports games on  the internet because many games are not played on local tv because in most cases they are not your local team.  Also for me when I am working I can get the scores to game right on my cell phone.  The internet has brought so much convenience to my life and to many other people.

funny childhood memory

Growing up I spent lots of time in Wells maine.  My mom entire family lives there on Drake Island.  Me and my cousins at low tide always used to swim in harbor between Drake's Island beach and Wells Beach. We used to swim to the marsh to go collect creatures.  One afternoon the tide started to come and so my brother, my two cousins, and I started to swim back to our beach.  My cousin Lauren and I made it back to the beach to realize that our brothers were not behind us!  They were getting sucked out to sea by a rip current.  Fortunately a lobster boat picked them up and brought them back to shore, needless to say we never told our parents.

My name is Hannah Silva.  I am from arlington ma.  I am twenty-two years old.  I am a full time student here at umass.  I only have two semesters left then I am done.   I am a criminal justice major.  I  have two jobs.  I work at a bakery called Royal Pastry and I nanny for two amazing kids!  I really look forward to taking this class.
